Similar in theme to Nintendo's Pokemon series, Axies come in different rarity types, with varying strengths and attributes, with the strongest fetching very high prices on the game's marketplace. Players earn Smooth Love Potions (SLPs) by completing daily quests, defeating monsters and battling other players in arenas with their Axies. For reference, the global film industry is worth $100 billion and all North American sports combined are $73 billion in terms of annual revenues. Experts predict that the number of online streamers of online games will rise to one billion by 2025 — one in nine people today. Three of the top four most viewed United States sporting events in 2018 were not even traditional sporting events. They were e-sporting events. For example, the League...

Korea's FSC confirms that NFTs will not be controlled

Image
The recent FATF updated guidance made it easy for regulators to pass on issuing new rules for NFTs.  The Financial Services Commission (FSC) in South Korea reaffirmed in a public statement today that nonfungible tokens (NFT) are not virtual assets, and will not be regulated. The confirmation of the decision to keep NFTs unregulated came after a review of the Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) updated guidelines. The October 28 guidance report from FATF states that “NFT, or crypto-collectibles, depending on their characteristics are generally not considered to be [Virtual Assets].” On November 5, an official from a branch of the FSC said in a statement to reporters: “Due to the FATF position on NFT regulation, we will not issue regulations for NFTs.” Korea’s financial regulator focused on the fact that FATF considered NFTs to be “unique, rather than interchangeable,” — which is of course the definition of nonfungible — and are used as collector items instead of as a means of payme...

Regarding the drop, Tarantino said, "Secret Network and Secret NFTs provide a whole new world of connecting fans and artists and I’m thrilled to be a part of that." Secret Network is a layer-one protocol, or blockchain improvement infrastructure, that enables the execution of privacy-by-default s...

Image
With land plots modeled after rover scouting of mars, space enthusiasts gain an opportunity to speculate the actual value of the red planet with NFTs. We might know Mars as the red planet, but many look to the planet as more, being a mystery and a world full of potential. Nearly 60 years ago, scientists believed the planet contained water and life in the form of a plantlike lichen. These initial findings were enough to push the US’ perseverance of a rover landing on Mars. The rover successfully drilled its first Martian rock core for NASA, sparking interest in this new world. Today, rovers and other astronauts continue to learn more about the planet as enthusiasts support the dream of life on Mars. With the exploration of this new world opening up many opportunities, it is no wonder that many people have begun speculating on the planet’s value. Since many won’t get the chance to visit Mars in our lifetime, suggesting one of the only meaningful ways to speculate the value of Mars is thr...
